Vignobles Fagard Who are we? | ||||
A very beautiful historyVINEYARD FAGARD is an exploitation of domestic type. In 1964, Henri FAGARD, wine storehouse leader, decided to create his own vineyard. Going through the region of BORDEAUX in France, he tracks down a promising soil in about fifteen km in the Northeast of SAINT-EMILION, in the municipality of PETIT-PALAIS. CHATEAU CORNEMPS has been born. The place is hilly, offering croups which lend themselves to the creation of a quality vineyard. Henri buys 6 ha of vineyards which he values by a well-kept culture and and well mastered techniques of wine making. He markets in 1966 the first bottles of CHATEAU CORNEMPS with the French particular clientele. A mature exploitationAt the same time, he enlarges the vineyard by the acquisition of plots of land adjoining his, and modernizes wine storehouses. In 1976, CHATEAU de CORNEMPS represents 18 ha. Henri and Jacqueline are then joined by their son Henri-Louis, who, with his wife Florence, is going to bring its commercial dynamism as well as a new glance on the management of the vineyard and the breeding of the wine. In 1986, Henri-louis acquires a remarkable soil, a Southwest hillside of the hillock of PUYNORMAND, one of the highest points of the Gironde, distant of 2 km. It undertakes important earthworks and studies of ground which enable him to constitute a splendid exploitation of 12 ha. In search of the qualityAt the same time, he enlarges the wine storehouses of breeding and stocking of wines, thus improving the remarkable site of CORNEMPS, and pursuing a clear objective: satisfying a more and more numerous clientele, offering each customer products presenting the best value for money. All these efforts bring numerous medals and recommendations in the specialized guides. Chateau LA JORINEConsolidated in their method, Henri-Louis and Florence decided in 1995 to acquire a small domain in the heart of prestigious naming LUSSAC ST-EMILION, neighbour of CORNEMPS. They track down a vineyard of old vineyards, very well situated, on an argilo-siliceous plateau, at the exit of the village of LUSSAC. The CHATEAU LA JORINE, which name was created in homage to their children Marine and Josselin, comes thus to finalize the history of a vine grower family . |
